The 1850-D is one of the rarest Type 1 Gold Dollars and is underrated and undervalued per Doug Winter. From a mintage of 8,382 there are estimated to be between 110-120 examples that have survived to today. The surfaces are green-gold in color, a decent amount of luster is present. The strike is somewhat weak as always found with some strike weakness in the centers. This also appears to be a later die state as many of the letters are blocky and filled on the reverse motto. Overall this is scarce in any AU grade and worthy of consideration for inclusion into a set of Dahlonega gold 's.
