1854 Type 2 Gold Dollar - NGC Uncirculated
This is the Type 2 gold dollar minted from 1854-1856 - a brief three year type. It is the scarcest of the three types of gold dollars. This example has a tiny ding at the base of Miss Liberty's neck which does little to detract from its overall appeal. Otherwise this coin would probably grade about 62 or 63. The coin shows strong evidence of die clashing on both sides. This is an attractive and affordable example of one of the more difficult gold dollars to acquire.
