    Description

    This is a 1855 Gold Dollar graded AU 55 by NGC.  This beautiful gold dollar is truly original and problem free and is composed of .900 fine gold with a net weight of .04837 oz. of pure gold.  This gold dollar is a three year type coin and is free from distracting contact marks which commonly plague this type.  On the reverse the 8 in the date is lightly struck but fully visible.  Most coins of this date have the 8 almost totally smashed which is why the design was modified after only 3 years.  This gorgeous coin would be a great way to add some gold and at the same time a coin from the mid 1800's to your collection!!
