    Blanche Marchesi
    ( 1863 – 1940)
    was a French mezzo-soprano
and voice teacher best known for her interpretations of the works of Richard Wagner.
She was the daughter of Mathilde and Salvatore Marchesi
    , German voice instructors
who taught a variety of well-known opera
singers. She was educated as a violinist but instead pursued a singing career in 1881. She later became a voice teacher and eventually retired in 1938, two years before she died.
(Note: We also have signed cabinet photos by both Mathilde and Salvatore Marchesi in our eBay store)
