    "Elisabeth Schwarzkopf", extra large signature 2 x 7, in blue ink, signed on the program listing page, 8 x 11, with her photograph as Princess von Werdenberg, the
    Marschallin
    on the opposite page. Also comes with an 8 x 10 b/w Angus McBean photograph. These items would make a wonderful framed presentation. Some age toning on the program pages, otherwise the program and the separate photograph are in fine condition.
    Elisabeth Schwarzkopf (1915-2006)
    made her official debut at London's Royal Opera House, at Covent Garden, in 1948.
    She made her American debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1954, appeared at Carnegie Hall in 1956, and made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1964.
    After retiring from the stage, she was a voice teacher internationally. She is considered one of the greatest sopranos of the 20th century.
