Opera stars, rare 1975 photograph at Carnegie Hall tribute to tenor Richard Tucker.
February 6, 1975, the date was originally scheduled to be a concert by Richard Tucker and Robert Merrill; it turned instead to a tribute to Mr. Tucker who died the previous month while on tour. This rare photograph, taken backstage in Carnegie Hall, shows just some of the stellar artists that sang at the concert; all paying tribute to their beloved colleague, and donating their services. The New York Post review of the concert printed this photograph; machine copy of review included.
